KEY ESG announces that it has achieved its SOC 2 certification. This news comes shortly after KEY ESG was reviewed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and has been validated as following best practices of system architecture and operational practices.
Head of development at KEY ESG, Ivan Seed, commented on KEY ESG’s build methodology:
“Robust security systems have been part of our build methodology from day one, and data security is of paramount importance in our development cycles. Gaining this third-party accreditation of our systems ensures we maintain those best-practice standards as we scale.”
System and Organization Controls (SOC) compliance accreditations were designed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). The AICPA supports global businesses and accountants through knowledge, resources, and advocacy; and the CIMA provides professional development services for individuals and organisations by funding academic research and monitoring professional standards.
In 2017, AICPA and CIMA came together to form an alliance to promote best practices in accounting and finance globally. SOC 1 and SOC 2 accreditations are issued by AICPA and CIMA to acknowledge excellence in the security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of a service provider's systems.
KEY ESG has been granted SOC 2 Type 1 approval, verifying that our software development processes meet stringent criteria for both security and reliability.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is renowned for its world-class cloud security measures and its scalability for software hosting.
KEY ESG software is designed by specialists and technical experts, and it has been hosted by AWS from the outset. Our framework libraries and metric calculators are updated in real time as global standards evolve. This is made possible through AWS’s cloud-hosted system, which facilitates regular updates and offers ultimate security for our clients’ data.
Data is hosted and stored at a secure AWS data centre in Ireland, which runs off 100% renewable energy. This means that our clients receive a secure service, all while endorsing sustainable practices.
The AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR) sought to determine whether or not KEY ESG was adopting best practices across the board, based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework. These standards evaluate a system’s architecture, its operational practices, and AWS resource configurations.
Becoming an official AWS Software Partner indicates that we are fully leveraging AWS's unparalleled infrastructure to deliver a superior service, underscoring our team’s dedication to delivering efficient and high-quality ESG software solutions.
KEY ESG's recent accreditation and partnerships signify our team’s steadfast commitment to technological advancement, data security, and privacy in the ESG sector. With an AWS software partnership and an SOC 2 accreditation behind us, clients can rest assured that they are working with a company that places security and system quality at the forefront of its operations.
"We're incredibly proud of our team's relentless pursuit of excellence. Achieving both the AWS Software Partnership and the SOC 2 accreditation is a reflection of our dedication to providing our clients with the best possible solutions through cutting-edge technology."
Anne-Marie Schoonbeek, COO at KEY ESG
